A young Nigerian employer, @TheSolape, shares a surprising encounter with an employee who resigned after receiving advice to stop depositing her wages into her husband's account.
The employer disclosed on the X platform that the cleaner's earnings were directly credited to her husband's account, a practice she found unconventional.
In an effort to empower the woman with financial independence, @TheSolape suggested that she open a personal bank account for better control over her hard-earned money. However, the cleaner abruptly stopped working, citing her husband's directive to quit upon learning of the advice from her boss.
“I advised my cleaner to go and fix her ATM issues so I can stop sending her wages to her husband’s account so she can save and have some control over her hard earned money. He told her not to come again 😭😭,” @TheSolape wrote.
